MEET THE CEO
Folake Sanu is a seasoned banking and finance business leader, a transformation coach and board executive with over 40 years of working experience.
Her career has been punctuated by incredible transitions, from being an auditor at Peat Marwick Ani Ogunde & Co (later KPMG) for over ten years, to twenty four years at senior management and executive level, to being an Executive Director at WEMA bank for six years. All of these transitions have been marked by outstanding performance and a trail of impact.
Folake led and managed various transformational projects and strategic business units in four different top banks in Nigeria. Her work experience spreads across governance and compliance, having performed the role of Executive Compliance Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of banks, Chief Financial Officer, Finance, Corporate Strategy, Digital Transformation and Customer Experience, Operations and Technology, Risk Management, Audit, Mergers and Acquisitions, Project Management, Credit and Marketing.
Folake Sanu’s professional accomplishments include and are not limited to being a certified transformational coach, fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA); an honorary senior member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN); an alumnus of the London Business School and Harvard Business School (where she had attended and obtained various Executive and Advanced Management Programme Certificates).
Much more than the business leader on the banking front, she has been able to lead a balanced life, as an accomplished mother and a loving wife. As a colleague, she has mentored quite a sizeable number of people, ensuring that they can also transition into better roles while leading a balanced life.
One of her many hats includes humanitarian services, Folake Sanu is a firm advocate for the rights of men and women. To foster women’s growth, she is a life member of Wimbiz. “Women in Management and Business”, a partner at WAW “Women at Work” and a mentor with Women’s Lifestyle Hub. These organizations are women’s groups for supporting women.
She is also a director with Elizabethan H & H, an organization focusing on solving the challenges of the Boy-child to safeguard the Girl-child, family and society.
When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, listening to music, watching movies, and taking part in aerobics and sports.
Folake is the author of Life Lessons From A Nigerian Wonder Woman. A book that shares personal and practical experiences of hers to highlight decisions and choices that positively impact career growth. She is passionate about the growth of the Nigerian woman and she facilitates educational sessions for different women groups
She is an Independent Non- Executive Director on the Board of Coleman Cables Technical Company Ltd and Alpha Morgan Bank.
